The count of valuable players in the field lets you know that, indeed, the current generation is a full of shit donkey football era.

I really miss football, what happened ?

bla bla says:

I've probably watched this game since at that time I've been both a Milan and Chelsea fan, but…. man, I'll be damn if I remember anything from this game… or the game at all!

I have no recollection of anything that's happened in this game, not one whatsoever, but at least it looks like it's been a good game. And how could it not be a good game when you have Sheva, Kaka, Maldini, Nesta, Cafu, Frankie, Didier, Eidur, and Terry on the pitch at the same time? Even if – through some bad joke of the fate – this game had ended 0-0 it would have still been sheer class with such legends on the pitch.

I miss those years, I miss those games, I miss those players…. I am one of the few people (probably) who have not bought into the Messi – Penaldo hysteria and hype that mass-media has crammed down the gullible football fan's throats, and that despite the fact that I have predicted that messi would be bigger than ronaldinho in a time when dinho had been the best and most popular player in the world. Back then, in the fall of 2004 I think, in a friendly game at Nou Camp between Barca and Juve, with Juve leading Barca 2-0 while the catalunyans were unable to break the almighty Juve's defense at that time (Cannavaro, Thuram, Zambrotta, Buffon)…. the Barcelonians have been unable to score against these defense, then comes minute 75 and Messi (a young, unheard of chap at that time) substitues dinho if I remember correctly. Within 2-3 minutes of entering the pitch he creates havoc among Juve's defense, and it's at that point in time when I look at my father (a die-hard Barcelona and Ronaldinho fan) and tell him "look! Here's a player that will be bigger than Ronaldinho". My father had looked at me, smiled and had arrogantly replied "Oh, really?", then pat me on my head and continued "No one will be bigger than Ronaldinho, son"…. He may have been right. To this day I haven't seen a more skilled player than Dinho, but at least I got it right that Messi was going to be bigger, and that in a time when Dinho was being the God of football.

Anyway, the point I am trying to make is that despite of having messi and penaldo enchanting us for the last decade, I still think that the 2000-2010 decade has provided the most big footballers of the entire history of football. I am referring to players like Drogba, Lampard, Terry, Essien, Eto'o, Kaka, Shevchenko, Inzaghi, Ronaldo (the brazilian), Cafu, Ronaldinho, Raul, Schweinsteiger, Zidane, Beckham, Cannavaro, Pirlo, Totti, Del Piero, Maldini, Nesta, Gerrard, Kuyt, van Nistelrooy, Nedved, Seedorf, Leonardo, Ballack, Figo, Hierro, Casillias, Buffon, Kahn, Robben, Ribbery, Lahm, Giggs, Scholes, Rooney, Bergkamp, Henry, Ibrahimovic, Rui Costa, and so many others that it's not practical to list here…
