(Los Angeles, CA)—With the city and county of L.A. still buzzing over last week’s highly successful House of Soccer and the International Champions Cup “Kick-off” event, 7/18, the (ICC) promotions department nicely delivered on its plan to promote excitement in the vast futbol/soccer communities here in Southern California by conducting a press availability with England’s Premiere League’s Tottenham Hotspur (aka Spurs) and the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, held at their Training Facility located in Playa Vista, CA. on Tuesday, 7/24.

This co-athlete training session and good will exchange was especially designed to promote the slate of excellent and highly anticipated futbol/soccer matches that began Wednesday, July 25th. At the time of this writing, the first match featured the Tottenham Hotspur vs. AS Roma in San Diego at 7 pm, while the second will feature AC Milan vs. Manchester United in the City of Carson’s Stubhub Center at 8 pm. After two days of rest, the Hotspur will come back to play FC Barcelona on Saturday, 7/28 at 8 pm in the world-renown sports stadium, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA.

But, let’s get back to the press event and inform you that the following Tottenham players, Cameron Carter-Vickers, (a young American prospect), Moussa Sissoko/France, Erik Lamela/Argentina, Serge Aurier/Ivory Coast, and Kevin Georges Ndoudou/France,  participated with L.A.Clippers rookie, shooting guard, Jerome Robinson, 6-5 (1.96 m) 188 lbs/85.3 kg), their recent 13th pick in the June 21, 2018 NBA Draft. Robinson played collegiately at Boston College.

To start the training session, Robinson and his new Hotspur friends used the allotted 30 minutes on the court to take some warm up shots, followed by free throws, and then perimeter shots from the 3 point line. The Hotspur players did so while dialoguing with several of the Clippers Team Trainers who were on hand to show them some of the basic basketball shooting techniques. Adding to the good-naturedness of the session, the Clippers new mascot, “Chuck” the giant California Condor, was introduced.

After this session, all of the athletes then fulfilled the traditional futbol/soccer “jersey exchange/swap” and then posed for individual photos with each athlete wearing his personalized, gifted jersey. This was certainly an excellent photo opportunity for the media photographers present. After that, a group photo was taken to  memorialize this unmistakable good will sporting gesture.

Once this portion of the event concluded, the media were invited to interview the players of their choice. In our story, East L.A. Sports Scene brings you exclusive video with Jerome Robinson and four of the Spurs players who took part in the event.
